According to the significant amount of feedback we received on the most recent Shore Craft Beer Summit, people are pretty energized about the possibilities for the region going forward. In response to a number of requests, we’ve compiled this collection of resources to help you share the ideas we discussed with other stakeholders as you see fit. These are all the basics, but if you need any more resources (or further information on the resources we’ve provided) as always, just reach out and we’ll get you square.

Summit Presentation

During the summit we went through a lot of numbers and concepts, many of which you might only have been seeing for the first time.

MAKE THE SHORE A CRAFT BEER DESTINATION!

DESIGNATE OCTOBER AS SHORE CRAFT BEER MONTH

We would appreciate EVERY municipality and county on the Shore designating October as Shore Craft Beer Month.  We have little time, so we have included a generic proclamation for you to use in getting your town or county government to make these proclamations.

Here’s the language:

PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, (Location) is home to a growing number of locally sourced and produced craft beer; and

WHEREAS, the promotion of breweries and craft beer enhance our existing tourism industry, particularly in the shoulder and off-seasons; and

WHEREAS, (Location) applauds our craft brewers (list breweries and locations) for capturing the flavors of the Eastern Shore and for their influence in helping to birth a new tourism market that attracts thousands of new visitors to our towns; and

WHEREAS, we recognize that the craft beer industry contributes well more than Two billion dollars to the economies of Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia; and

WHEREAS, we recognize that for every dollar spent on local craft beer, 67% of that revenue stays in our local economy; and

WHEREAS, (Location) will host many local craft beer centered activities and events planned throughout October for the Shore.  (List craft beer focused events in your specific locations.)

WHEREAS, Shore Craft Beer Month is an opportunity to celebrate (Location’s) craft beer and the farmers, business and community leaders working to grow the industry including (list your leaders).

NOW, THEREFORE, we the County Commissioners of (Location, State) do hereby proclaim October as Shore Craft Beer Month and encourage residents and visitors to support local craft brewers by attending the festivals and events throughout the month and drinking our local craft beers in our breweries, in our homes, and in our bars and restaurants.

THINK LOCAL, BUY DELMARVA CRAFT BEER

One of the exciting parts of the summit was the push to identify Del-Mar-Va as a craft beer destination. To that end, we’ve had logos developed that you can use to identify your restaurant or brewery as a place to drink local. The art can be made into coasters, bumper stickers, window decals or anything else that will improve the region’s profile. Contact us at Shore Craft Beer if you are interested in developing printing sponsorships or partnerships for printing branded stickers, coasters and other merch to promote drinking local.

For camera-ready versions of these logos, email amh@Maryland.com and we can send them under separate cover.
