A collaboration between two organizations serving downtown Rehoboth Beach for nearly three decades, Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats launches its third Benevolence Beer of 2023 to benefit CAMP Rehoboth.

REHOBOTH, DEL. (August 15, 2023) – On Wednesday, August 23, Dogfish Head’s Rehoboth Brewpub, Brewings & Eats, will launch Passion Pride, its third Benevolence Beer of 2023, in collaboration with CAMP Rehoboth. At 6.5% ABV, Passion Pride is a limited-edition blonde ale brewed with honey, passionfruit and butterfly pea flower extract, an ingredient that turns purple when it meets citrus. That’s right … when this beer’s combination of butterfly pea flowers and passionfruit intertwine, the liquid is transformed into a lovely shade of lavender.

“We worked with our friends at CAMP Rehoboth to create a beer that celebrates the spirit of pride and offers something for everyone. Passion Pride is a fruity and playful honey-kissed blonde ale with tiki drink vibes, thanks to the addition of real passion fruit,” said Dogfish Head Brewing Manager, Bryan Selders. “All of this comes with a fun twist— this blonde ale is purple thanks to a magical addition of butterfly pea flowers.”

Passion Pride will be available on draft for on-site consumption at Dogfish Head’s Rehoboth brewpub and to-go in 4pk/16oz cans at Dogfish Head’s Off-Centered EmPOURium, while supplies last. Priced at $17 per 4pk. A portion of the beer’s proceeds will be donated to CAMP Rehoboth to support its mission of creating a positive environment, inclusive of all sexual orientations and gender identities in Rehoboth Beach and its surrounding communities.

Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats will also host Benevolence Nights on August 9, and August 23, inviting folks to dine and/or drink in support of CAMP Rehoboth, as 10% of all proceeds will be donated to the local non-profit.

“CAMP Rehoboth is so excited to partner with Dogfish Head to create our own special Passion Pride brew and celebrate all community members in a wonderfully unique way,” said Matty Brown, Communications Manager at CAMP Rehoboth.

Stemming from the early days of Dogfish Head, its Beer & Benevolence program is the brewery’s way of giving back to the communities that has nourished its roots in coastal Delaware. Dogfish Head is proud to support the great work taking place in its home state by collaborating with nonprofit organizations to build community, amplify the arts and cultivate environmental stewardship. The brewery’s Beer & Benevolence Beer Series takes its initiatives a step further, with the release of a series of four beers each year, each conceptualized and brewed with a different local non-profit and a portion of the beer’s proceeds benefitting the collaborating organization.
