Weekly Happy Hour with Local Craft Breweries Announced: Think the Shore Drink the Shore
Shore Craft Beer App Helps “Think the Shore, Drink the Shore” with prizes and remote check-ins
Berlin, MD — May 26, 2020 — “When circumstances keep us out of our local breweries, we need to get more creative in how we enjoy the Shore’s local craft beer.” states Ann McGinnis Hillyer, CEO of Shore Craft Beer.
Learning about a beer is one of the top reasons people go to breweries and craft beer festivals. In today’s environment, we can’t go to the brewery or festival to hang out, but we can continue to enjoy our local craft beers and learn about the beers from the owners or brewers while remaining at home. To make this happen, Shore Craft Beer is starting a Craft Beer Happy Hour on Tuesdays at 5 pm. A different brewery will host the event LIVE each week on Shore Craft Beer‘s Facebook page. The program itself and the length of the happy hour are up to the brewery. No event will be the same. From food & beer pairings, to concerts, to brewery tours, Tuesdays will be a time to Think the Shore, Drink the Shore. Those watching can engage with the brewery through comments on the Facebook Live broadcast. Tall Tales kicked the series off on May 26th and Crooked Hammock will pick up the mantle on June 16th. Full details on ShoreCraftBeer.com.
The goal is to encourage all participants across the region and the country to buy beer produced here on the Shore; in Maryland, Delaware, or Virginia. If a participant is local, many of our breweries are offering beer for pick-up or delivery. Other participants can buy Shore Craft Beer in local retail stores.
Think the Shore, Drink the Shore Challenge
Shore Craft Beer is offering an additional incentive for fun by introducing the Think the Shore, Drink the Shore Challenge through the Shore Craft Beer App. All a participant has to do is check in six times to win and a brewery will send you a prize. You can check into these new Think the Shore, Drink the Shore Happy Hours or participating breweries, bars, restaurants, or hotels by posting a picture of yourself, or a receipt for your beer or food purchase. Prizes will be awarded to everybody that completes six check-ins. A different brewery sponsors the prizes each month. Full details are available on the App.
Shore Craft Beer wants the app, the challenge, and the series to reflect how extraordinary craft beer is here on the Eastern Shore.
Shore Craft Beer App
Shore Craft Beer was awarded a grant from the Rural Maryland Council to produce the Shore Craft Beer App. The App was rolled out during the Shore Craft Beer Festival: Love on Tap in February 2020. The updated version enables users to take advantage of new ways to check in and participate. It celebrates a new season on the Shore and helps as a marketing and information platform. Push notifications can be sent about upcoming events, keg taps, festival activities, and more in real time ensuring our region leads the industry and becomes top in craft beer sales!
