Dogfish Dash 2024

MILTON, Del. (JULY 30, 2024) – It’s almost time to lace up those kicks and run for a cause! Dogfish Head’s annual off-centered road race, Dogfish Dash, is set for Sunday, Sept. 29. Starting at 9 a.m. at Dogfish Head’s Milton Brewery, runners will embark on a scenic 3.81-mile journey* through historic Milton and its natural surroundings, returning to the brewery for an epic afterparty. This year, as part of Dogfish Head’s Beer & Benevolence® program, 100% of proceeds from Dash will be donated to the Sussex County Land Trust, a nonprofit organization focused on enhancing public access and preserving land throughout Sussex County.

*Final race route is subject to change, so distance could vary slightly.

Runners can register for Dogfish Dash HERE for $50 per person. All participants 21+ will receive two beverage tickets to enjoy some post-run off-centered ales at the afterparty. Those who sign up by Aug. 16 are guaranteed some sweet runner goodies, including a 2024 Dogfish Dash T-shirt.

“The Sussex County Land Trust is proud of our ongoing partnership with Dogfish Head and for this year’s Dash in support of our ongoing efforts to protect resources through land preservation, stewardship, and education,” said Ring Lardner, SCLT chairman.

SCLT is currently working to develop newly established parks and preserves throughout the county, including Hopkins Preserve, Hudson Park and the Forest of the Broadkill Preserve. These properties will provide active hiking and biking trails, as well as other recreational opportunities. They will also undergo enhancements such as reforestation to improve their ecological diversity. Hudson Park and Hopkins Preserve will feature trailheads along the Lewes-to-Georgetown trail, with improvements including bathroom facilities, playgrounds and more.

But the goodness doesn’t stop there! The Recycled Costume Contest is back, and participants are encouraged to craft outfits from recycled materials for a chance to snag some seriously cool prizes. This year, prizes will be awarded for the best group costumes, as well as for the best-dressed gal and guy. Plus, folks can give their old dashing shoes a new lease on life by donating them to Sneakers4Good, who will be popping up on-site to collect donations. This recycling effort benefits not only the local community but helps improve the lives of people all around the world.
