This Hammock is Wide Enough for THREE
The Crooked Hammock Brewery opened a second location in Middletown, DE, on November 12, 2019, and will be opening a third location in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina Spring 2020. The privately owned brewery, now a chain, states on their site, “Local, Independent, and Proud. We craft brews that embody the Crooked Hammock way. They are uniquely brewed from scratch, easy drinking, and approachable. A full glass that you are happy to hold, and eager to drink, again & again.”
Opening October 2015, Crooked Hammock new fairly early into their inception that they wanted to open a second location. “After our first full year, our second summer, we knew we wanted to expand.” said Jon Schorah, Head Brewer of Crooked Hammock. They began to scout Delaware towns without an existing brewery and quickly found that Middletown wanted them. Middletown was looking for a brew pub and wanted Crooked Hammock to be their first brew pub. The process took about a year before Middletown came to fruition.
MYRTLE BEACH, SC
“Myrtle Beach location was more of a recruitment. Barefoot Landing had a building and asked if we would make a Crooked Hammock there.” said Jon. And so they are! The location was perfect for the backyard lifestyle Crooked Hammock provides.
With both Middletown & Myrtle Beach, CH is making sure to keep all that their customers look forward to when visiting, but they have upped the ante.
“We embrace the backyard feeling. It’s our calling card. Really one of the keys to our success,” asserted Jon Schorah, Head Brewer of Crooked Hammock.
Crooked Hammock has become synonymous with easy living, they actually have a “back yard” that provides ping pong and corn hole for guests to play at their leisure. At the new Middletown location, the yard is four times larger than the original and has an even bigger outdoor fire pit than Lewes. At the original location, to utilize the games and continue the outdoor perception they have tented the back deck and it is heated for the colder months. At the new locations the screened-in, heated porches allow the outside feel in a comfortable temperature.
Thirst, hunger, a hankering for a good game of cornhole, whatever your reason to wet your whistle at one the of current locations, Lewes or Middletown, you won’t be disappointed in the their offerings or the aesthetic. More reasons to visit, are some great events coming up for the holiday season.
