Shore Craft Beer Lovers month, also known as FeBREWary, will get an early start on the Shore this year with a launch party and press event at the Clarion Resort from 4 – 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 17.
The event provides an opportunity for brewers and beer lovers from all over the Shore to come together in celebration of Craft Beer Lovers Month, and to further the peninsula-wide push to make Delmarva a national Craft Beer Destination.
Also at the event, the Town of Ocean City and Shore Craft Beer will unveil OCraft, Ocean City’s first craft beer challenge. The challenge aims to utilize the rise of beer-related tourism to draw visitors to Ocean City throughout the year.
The launch party is open to the public and will include appetizers provided by the Clarion as well as tastes of local craft beer and beer available for purchase by the pint.
February tends to be quiet in Ocean City and throughout the Delmarva peninsula, but the FeBREWary effort gives people both an excuse and incentive to come explore what is being touted as the Shore’s World Class Beer and World Class Beauty.
Last year, the efforts of the Town and Shore Craft Beer during FeBREWary brought well over 1,000 people to Ocean City. The annual capstone event alone, Shore Craft Beer Fest: Love on Tap at Seacrets, saw 850 attendees.
“Craft Beer Lovers month on a state-wide scale as well as being a focus across the Shore is a major linchpin in our effort to make the Shore a top 10 craft beer destination,” said Shore Craft Beer CEO Ann McGinnis Hillyer. “With more participation from restaurants, hotels and breweries, we will get more visitors and bring more business to the Shore year-round.”
Tickets are available for this year’s Love on Tap festival at ShoreCraftBeerFest.com.
