Our Beers
Haulin’ Oats
What better way can you make your mustache’s dreams come true than by filling it with a creamy, satisfying stout? This dark roasted brew is heavy in body and color but light in its mouthfeel, thanks to being brewed with rolled oats and lactose, which gives it an underlying sweetness. Notes: Creamy mouthfeel, roasted malts, brewed with oatmeal.
Wai Ola
Wai Ola, meaning “water of life” in Hawaiian, was precisely the vibe Head Brewer, Chris Wood was aiming to capture in developing this light, California style ale. This beer was meant to be easy drinking but packs tons of summer flavor, thanks to additions of not just coconut water, but roasted coconut flakes in multiple stages of the brewing process. Mahalo! Notes: pale ale, subtle coconut, hints of tropical and pine hops, strong coconut aroma.
Shoobie
Shoobies were city folks who journeyed to the beach by train in the late 1800’s. Their ticket included a shoe box lunch, hence the name. Since then the term is now a pet name for tourists who feed seagulls, wear socks with flip flops or just seem generally confused by the seashore. So sad. So cute. We love us some shoobies. Notes: Blonde ale, pale gold, slightly floral, easy drinking.
Mootzy’s Treasure
Richard “Mootzy” Mootz, is a native of Sussex County, DE who proudly served in WWII. After the war, he recovered stolen treasures as one of the famous Monument Men. That became his avocation in life, and he has continued to recover treasure throughout Sussex county. Much of his collection has been lovingly made into Crooked Hammock décor including the tables, bar and wall the hangings. We honor and celebrate Mootzy’s finds with our flagship Pale Ale. Notes: Copper color, floral and citrus notes, cascade and chinook hop aromas.
Backyard Brown Ale
Easy drinking English brown ale with a malty flavor. Perfect for relaxing in the backyard or around the campfire. Notes: Malt Forward, nutty, caramel, dark fruit and chocolate, with a creamy head.
Actively Fishing
There are quite a few rules to surf fishing at our local state park beaches. This beer pays homage to our favorite rule…make sure you are “Actively Fishing” at all times. Enjoy this easy drinking czech pilsner on the beach, just make sure you’ve got a line in the water notes: light color, toasted sweet malt flavor, low levels of noble hop aroma
Beach Escape
This Belgian style India Pale Ale boasts a strong and refreshing citrus flavor and aroma thanks to the Cascade, Citra and Pacifica hops and tangerine peel used. It pairs perfectly with sunshine, sane, and cookouts.
Citra Galaxy
The winner of the Delmarva United Homebrewers contest here at Hammock, this American IPA features a light malt base and a healthy dose of Citra and Galaxy hops added during boil and dry hop. Tasting notes: hop forward, crisp mouthfeel, subtle malt notes, citrus throughout.
Leroy Brown Cask Ale
Our Backyard Brown with a small amount of jalapeno peppers and Citra dryhopped. Our cask ale is served at 55 F and naturally carbonated. Don’t let the peppers scare you. If we didn’t tell you they were in there you would just know something was familiar in the taste. About a 2 out of 10 on the spiciness scale. Notes: malt forward, nutty, subtle spiciness and hops
Blue and Boujee
A classic Belgian wheat ale brewed with a refreshing amount of blueberries, fresh ground coriander, fresh basil, orange and lemon peel. Basil stands strong in aroma with a balance of spices across the pallet, a subtle blueberry sweetness and a mildly crisp lemon finish. Tasting notes: pale ruby color, mild sweetness, hints of fresh fruit and spice, subtle citrus undertones.
May Day
Thanks to the use of 5 different hops, this springtime IPA is exploding with citrus juiciness yet mellowed with the addition of lactose for a super smooth beer that is perfect for a spring day out in the sand. Tasting notes: bright yellow, full bodied, light malt backbone, hints of pine, stone fruit, apple and pear.
